A smart banner is a banner that will show up at the top of the screen when a user visits your website using a smart device that lets them know you have an app and directs them to the Apple and Google store to download. The banner also shows up if your user visits your site using a smart device and that user already has the app downloaded on their device then the banner encourages them to open the app instead. This feature only works after your app is live and below we will show you how to set this up.
App Store App ID
First thing you need to do before we start is grab your app listing ID. The ID will be at the end of your listing URL. You can locate these by visiting the app stores and linking to your app store pages url’s and taking the last number at the end of the Url.
Apple App Store Connect
Your URL will something like Spotify url link below:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify/id1558004735 – You only need the number after id at the end. I would save the whole url somewhere you can always get to it for marketing purposes saves you having to always jump into you developer account to link to it each time…
Google Play Store:
This is not required for setting up the Smart Banner but always good to know.
With Google your link will look something like Spotify link below:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.tv.android – with this you only want the last part after id=. So com.spotify.tv.android would be the id you want here.
