Configure Android App Settings
Configure your Android app by setting an Application ID, securing your KeyStore, and registering the ID in Google Play.
Set your Application ID
- Go to WordPress Dashboard > BuddyBoss App > Configure > Android Settings.
- Under App Configuration, enter your Application ID and Save Changes.
- App ID must be unique and follow Android rules; use a separate .test ID for test builds.

Tip: Reserve your ID by registering it in Google Play Console after you have a Release build
Generate & Import your KeyStore
- Go to BuddyBoss App > Tools > Generate KeyStore.
- Enter a password and alias (or leave blank to auto‑generate), add certificate info, generate, then check the confirmation box and download the ZIP containing your key store.
- Back it up securely. You’ll need the same KeyStore for all future updates.
- Go back to WordPress Admin > BuddyBoss App > Configure > Android Settings > KeyStore Information > Import, select the zip you downloaded, and Save.
Register your Application ID in Google Play
Registering your Application ID in Google Play Console prevents others from claiming it. You do this by uploading any release build with that ID.
The process of generating builds is covered in a separate lesson, found in the Launch and Manage Your BuddyBoss App section.
- Generate a Release build in BuddyBoss App > Build.
- Log in to the Google Play Console with your developer account.
- Go to All apps, select your app, then under Release choose Production.
- Click Create new release.
- In App Bundles, click Upload and select the AAB file built with your Application ID.
- Click Save to register the ID.
